The Aurora Flyers are a nationally ranked
Junior Olympic Track team founded in 1988 right
here in Aurora, Illinois. It is our goal to
train and develop our athletes to be able to get
college scholarships, compete in the Olympics
for Team USA, and even turn professional. The
Aurora Flyers range in age from 6 to 18 years
old.
The
team is ethnically diverse and from all
socio-economic backgrounds. Coach Tom Boatright
has been our leader since it’s inception and
is directly responsible for turning our kids into champions both on the track and in school.
Coach
Tom Boatright has coached the Aurora Flyers
Track Club for over 10 years and has turned out
some of the top male and female track athletes
in Illinois. He was also invited to the
Chicago Bears training camp in 1975 because of
his own speed. He was on the rookie roster
along with Walter Payton.
